Aanvullende informatie

Issued in 1995 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule, this is one of several North Korean commemorative gold pieces released in that period almost exclusively for the foreign collector market — hard currency generation, not domestic celebration. The DPRK's commemorative coin program through the 1990s was administered largely through foreign trading companies, and many issues saw nominal or unverifiable mintages.

KM#95.1 designates this as the first of two recorded varieties for the type.
