| Additional information |
Yengin Beketov (often romanized as Boketov) was a Soviet-era Kazakh scholar and academician whose work in mathematics and metallurgy earned him the title Hero of Socialist Labor in 1969. Kazakhstan has issued commemorative coins honoring figures from its intellectual history with some regularity since independence, and Beketov — born in 1925 — fits the centenary pattern that clearly drove this 2025 issue.
