| Description du revers | The reverse carries a panoramic vignette of the Ishim River embankment in Astana, with the winged snow leopard sculpture on the bridge rendered as a central motif, flanked by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications building at left and the Ministry of Defense building in the background. An outline map of Kazakhstan occupies the upper register, while the lower portion is enriched with traditional Kazakh ornamental patterns set against a steppe landscape underprint. Kazakhstan established its own banknote printing facility in Almaty in 1997, making it one of the few post-Soviet republics to bring currency production fully in-house within the first decade of independence. The 200 Tenge was first issued in 1999; this 2006 dated iteration is a continuation of that series rather than a redesign, with no substantive changes to the security specification beyond the watermark already present in earlier printings.
Watermark-only security on a circulating denomination by the mid-2000s was already considered minimal, and the note was eventually superseded by a polymer upgrade program.
