| Opmerkingen |
Uganda's 200 Shilling denomination was introduced in 1987 as the country was still recovering from the economic wreckage of the Obote II and Okello periods — inflation had gutted the original shilling series so thoroughly that a complete redenomination had been necessary in 1987, replacing the old shilling at par but effectively resetting the currency's psychological footing. The 200 Shilling sat near the top of the initial issue range, a denomination that would become increasingly inadequate as inflation persisted through the early 1990s.
Thomas De La Rue handled production throughout the series run, a relationship Uganda maintained consistently across multiple decades of note issues.
