正面描述 Portrait of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, the first President of Kenya, occupies the left half of the note in intaglio print, set against a multicolour guilloche underprint. The Kenyan national arms appear to the right of centre, flanked by the bilingual bank title "BANKI KUU YA KENYA / CENTRAL BANK OF KENYA" across the top. A latent-image oval device and the denomination numeral "200" are repeated in the upper right corner, with the date, legal tender inscription, and signature lines for the Governor and Member of the Board of Directors printed below.

备注

The 200 Shilling denomination was introduced into Kenya's currency structure relatively late compared to the rest of the series, filling a gap between the 100 and 500 that had long been a practical inconvenience in everyday retail transactions. De La Rue's production for Kenya during this period incorporated optically variable ink as the Central Bank pushed to close vulnerabilities that had made earlier Kenyan notes attractive targets for counterfeiters — a genuine problem documented through the late 1990s and into the early 2000s.

Three signature combinations across five years reflect the gubernatorial transition from Oduor-Otieno to Ndung'u, who took the governor's chair in 2007 following a competitive appointment process that itself played out against the political turbulence surrounding Kenya's disputed 2007 elections.
