Reverse description	Plain greenish paper with a double-rule border enclosing two blocks of text: the upper in German guaranteeing that the note's value is fully deposited with the Imperial Government of German East Africa ('Kaiserliches Gouvernement von Deutsch-Ostafrika'), and the lower in Swahili conveying the same assurance with decorative floral ornaments. A framed anti-counterfeiting warning in small letterpress type occupies the bottom margin.
