Reverse description The reverse of the host coin is fully visible and displays a plain Latin cross at centre, with four cinquefoil rosettes positioned in each quadrant between the arms of the cross. A circular legend surrounds the design, reading 'IN HOC SIGNO VINCES' (In this sign you shall conquer), separated by trefoil stops. The field is smooth and the entire design is enclosed within a beaded border consistent with Portuguese milled coinage of the early 18th century.
