Printed in dark red, red, white, and gold on a multicolour guilloche underprint incorporating elements of the South African flag, the obverse carries an intaglio vignette of a seated adult leopard turned three-quarters away with its gaze directed forward, accompanied by a seated leopard cub to its right. The denomination '200' appears in large numerals at the upper left alongside the vertical 'RAND' legend, with the bank name in Zulu at the upper right and in Tswana at the lower left, all rendered in raised intaglio printing. Two serial numbers are present — one in dark red printed vertically at the left margin and one in black printed horizontally at the upper right — while a see-through registration oval at the lower right reveals a walking leopard vignette when held to light, and Omron rings incorporating the denomination are integrated into the design. |

The denomination '200' appears in large intaglio numerals at the lower right, with the national motto in the Khoisan script at the upper area, the bank name in English, and the signature of the Governor, accompanied by an oval security element at the lower right. |
