The fourth and final coin in the Royal Mint's James Bond series, this completer piece closes out a program that began in 2020 with a 007 licensing arrangement unusual enough in itself — the Mint had never previously entered a franchise tie-in at this bullion weight tier. The two-ounce format was chosen specifically for the completer, distinguishing it from the one-ounce pieces that preceded it.
Eon Productions granted the licensing rights at a moment when the franchise was between active films, "No Time to Die" having concluded Daniel Craig's run in 2021 with no confirmed successor yet cast.
