Opmerkingen

The 200 Pesos Dominicanos denomination was introduced relatively late in the Dominican series, filling a practical gap in everyday transactions as inflation steadily eroded the purchasing power of smaller notes. By the time this print run began in 2017, the Banco Central had already been managing a long-term denomination ladder expansion — the 200 was one of the later additions to find a stable place in active circulation rather than being quickly superseded.

Paper substrate at this denomination is notable given that the Dominican Republic had been selectively migrating higher-value notes toward polymer. The retention of cotton paper here, with watermark as the primary security anchor, reflects a cost-tiered security policy rather than any technical limitation.
