200 Pesos 75th Anniversary of Banco de Mexico

Issued in 2000 to mark the seventy-fifth anniversary of Banco de México's founding in 1925, this commemorative 200 Peso note was produced entirely in-house — Banco de México has operated its own printing facility since the 1960s, one of relatively few central banks in the Americas to do so. The anniversary series attracted collector attention on release but circulated freely alongside the regular 200 Peso notes then current, which limits the premium on used examples.

Pick 114 is occasionally confused with the standard 200 Peso issues of the same period. The anniversary designation is the distinguishing factor; the security package — thread and watermark only — is modest by the standards of Mexican notes issued just a few years later.
