正面描述 The obverse is printed in black on cream paper and carries a central oval vignette with the arms of Buenos Aires flanked by ornamental scrollwork, above the cursive inscription 'El Estado de Buenos Ayres' and the text 'RECONOCE ESTE BILLETE POR'. The denomination 'DOSCIENTOS PESOS MONEDA CORRIENTE' is set in bold letterpress across the centre, with the date 'MAYO 25 DE 1858' at upper left and a manuscript serial number at upper right. Lateral borders incorporate repeated circular vignettes of a three-masted sailing vessel within guilloche panels, with the word 'DOSCIENTOS' at top and bottom and '200' at each corner.

背面描述 The reverse is essentially unprinted, showing the plain cream paper stock with visible show-through of the obverse design elements and two manuscript signatures in red ink, consistent with the period practice of counter-signing circulating notes issued by the Banco y Casa de Moneda de la Provincia de Buenos Aires.

备注

El Estado de Buenos Ayres existed as a separate political entity from the Argentine Confederation between 1852 and 1861, following Urquiza's victory at Caseros and the subsequent split. This note was issued during that interval of provincial independence, when Buenos Aires ran its own finances, its own customs revenues, and its own paper money entirely outside federal authority.

PS#435 is among the higher denominations of the series — 200 pesos was a substantial sum in 1858 provincial commerce. Survival rate for large-denomination notes of this issuer is low; they circulated hard and were rarely set aside.
