| Obverse description | Printed in red and brown on cream cardboard, the obverse is framed by a fine guilloche border and carries the issuer's title "Herzoglich Braunschweigische Sparkasse" in ornate Fraktur script across the upper portion, flanked by denomination panels marked "200 M" at upper left and right. A ducal arms vignette occupies the centre beneath the title, above a bold Gothic panel reading "zweihundert Mark", with series designation "Serie IV lit. Q" and a manuscript number field to either side. The note is completed by two manuscript signatures, a circular official stamp of the Herzogl. Hauptkasse Braunschweig, the place-and-date inscription "Braunschweig, am 1. Nov. 1918", and a bold Gothic overprint reading "Unverzinsliches Kriegsnotgeld" across the lower portion. |

| Reverse description | Printed in blue-grey on cream cardboard and framed by a ruled border with guilloche surround, the reverse is organised into a structured interest-rate reference layout. A left column headed "Jahreszinsen sind gezahlt:" provides blank ledger lines for recording annual interest payments, while a central table titled "Zinsen auf 200 M Einlage" tabulates monthly periods from 1 to 12 against interest values at rates of 3%, 3½%, 3¾%, and 4%. A column of regulatory text at the right margin cites the applicable Brunswick savings bank statute of 10 June 1892; a corner cut at upper left indicates cancellation. |
