| Obverse description | The obverse displays the three towers of San Marino — the Guaita, Cesta, and Montale — rising from a crenellated fortified wall at centre, each surmounted by an ostrich feather finial. The legend REPVBBLICA DI SAN MARINO arcs along the upper periphery in large capital letters, while the motto LIBERTAS appears on a cartouche at the base of the towers. A small spray of laurel and oak branches decorates the lower field beneath the cartouche. |
