Obverse description The crowned coat of arms of the Republic of San Marino occupies the central field, depicted on a decorative banner or scroll. The shield bears the traditional Sammarinese emblem featuring three towers upon the three peaks of Mount Titano. The circular legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO runs along the upper periphery, while the word LIBERTAS appears at the lower portion of the rim. The engravers' names, Asselbergs and Frapiccini, are inscribed in small text within the lower field.
