San Marino's 200 lire series ran through the final years before euro adoption, and the 2001 issues were among the last struck under the old currency — Italy and San Marino both converted on January 1, 2002. Mintages for these final-year pieces were kept deliberately low, as demand had shifted almost entirely to collector sets rather than circulation.
