| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central depiction of the Creation of Adam inspired by Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel fresco, showing the nude figure of Adam rising between two outstretched divine hands that frame him from left and right. The denomination 'L. 200' appears to the upper left, the mint mark 'R' is situated at lower left, and the engraver's signature 'N. TORELLI' is inscribed along the lower left rim. The legend 'CITTA DEL VATICANO' curves along the upper right periphery. The scene is rendered in low relief with a textured field evoking the original fresco composition. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The 1983 Vatican annual coin set was issued during the Holy Year — Anno Santo — declared by John Paul II, one of only a handful of extraordinary jubilees called outside the standard 25-year cycle. The aluminum bronze 200 lire denomination had been a fixture of Italian and Vatican coinage since the late 1970s, its alloy chosen partly in response to the rising cost of silver and bronze alternatives following the monetary instability of that decade.
KM#174 is specific to the jubilee year series, distinguishing it from the standard annual issue struck the same year under a separate catalog number.
