| Obverse description | Facing bust of Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi occupying the central field, depicted with a full beard and wearing a tall conical felt hat (sikke) wrapped with a turban cloth, rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail. The date 1978 appears to the left of the bust, and the engraver's signature H. ERKARTAL is incised below the portrait. The circular legend reads TURKIYE CUMHURIYETI above and MEVLANA CELALEDDINI RUMI below, separated by raised dot stops. |
