备注

The 1992 Bulgarian lev series was issued as the country navigated the economic wreckage of post-communist transition — hyperinflation had already gutted purchasing power, and the 200 Leva denomination, substantial on paper, was losing real value faster than the notes could circulate. Within four years Bulgaria would experience one of the most severe banking collapses in post-Soviet Eastern Europe, and the entire lev would be replaced by a new currency pegged to the Deutsche Mark in 1997.

Printing was contracted to the Wertpapierdruckerei in Leipzig — itself a firm navigating reunification-era restructuring — rather than to the established western security printers Bulgaria had occasionally used previously. The watermark is the sole listed security feature, a notably thin specification for a denomination of this size.
