Obverse description The Bulgarian state coat of arms — a crowned lion rampant on a shield supported by two rampant lions, with the motto «СЪЕДИНЕНИЕТО ПРАВИ СИЛАТА» on a ribbon below — occupies a central intaglio-printed vignette set against a fine guilloche underprint in green and pink. Denomination numerals «200» appear in ornate cartouches to the left and right of the central vignette, flanked by elaborate interlaced border ornaments. Two serial numbers in red are printed below the side numerals, with the bank name arching across the top and the place and date «СОФИЯ 1945» at the foot.

Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a central panel bearing the denomination in large Cyrillic letters «ДВЕСТА ЛЕВА» and the bank name in French «BANQUE NATIONALE DE BULGARIE», set within an intricate guilloche surround. The design is executed in brown and olive-green tones with fine lathe-work forming the decorative border. A statutory anti-counterfeiting warning in Cyrillic runs along the lower portion of the note.
