Opmerkingen

The 200 Lekë denomination was introduced as part of Albania's late-1990s and early-2000s effort to rationalize a banknote series that had been repeatedly disrupted — first by the communist-era monetary system, then by the catastrophic 1997 pyramid scheme collapse, which triggered a near-total breakdown of public trust in financial institutions and required the central bank to rebuild credibility almost from scratch.

The 2007 date places this note well into the post-crisis stabilization period. Security specifications for this series are modest by contemporary European standards — no hologram, no color-shifting ink.
