备注

The 200 Kwacha denomination was introduced as Malawi's highest face value note when the series launched, a reflection of cumulative inflation that had steadily eroded the purchasing power of lower denominations through the 1990s. De La Rue's involvement was long-standing with the Reserve Bank of Malawi — the relationship dates to independence-era issues — making this a continuation of an established contract rather than a competitive tender.

Colour-shifting ink on a note of this period and origin was still considered an upper-tier security measure for sub-Saharan African issues, typically reserved for the highest denomination in any given series. Its presence here was deliberate.
