200 Kuna Archaeological Museum Split

The Archaeological Museum in Split is one of the oldest museums in Croatia, founded in 1820, and houses artifacts excavated from Salona — the ancient Roman provincial capital just outside the city that was largely abandoned after Avar and Slav raids in the early seventh century. This coin was issued as part of Croatia's long-running commemorative kuna program, which accelerated notably in its final years as the country prepared to adopt the euro, eventually completing the transition in January 2023.
