The "Famous Men and Women" series marked a deliberate departure from the architectural and antiquarian imagery that had dominated Danish banknotes for decades. This 200 Kroner note was designed by Astrid Samson and Kjeld Helge Rasmussen, with intaglio printing handled by the Nationalbank's own Copenhagen works — one of the few central banks in the world that operated its own full production facility for the entire series lifespan.
Four distinct signature combinations across the 1997–2000 issue run reflect staff changes in bank management, not separate print orders — a detail that catches out collectors who assume each pairing represents a discrete print series.
