| 裏面の説明 | The reverse presents a panoramic architectural composition of the UNESCO World Heritage town of Banská Štiavnica, featuring three prominent landmarks rendered in high relief: the grand Baroque domed Holy Trinity Church to the left, a smaller church with onion domes in the centre, and the ornate Baroque Plague Column with sculptural figural groups to the right. The town's coat of arms is displayed in the lower left field. The legend 'SVETOVÉ DEDIČSTVO UNESCO' arcs across the upper field, and the inscription 'BANSKÁ ŠTIAVNICA' appears in the lower centre, identifying the celebrated mining town inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993. |

Banská Štiavnica was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993, recognized for its extraordinary complex of Renaissance and Baroque civic architecture built on the wealth of what was, by the 18th century, one of the most productive silver and gold mining regions in the Habsburg Empire. The Academy of Mining established there in 1762 was the first technical university of its kind in the world. This commemorative issue followed the UNESCO inscription by four years.
