| Obverse description | Central design features a large six-pointed star (Star of David / Seal of Solomon) enclosing a five-pointed star (pentagram) within a circle, all rendered in high relief against an intricately decorated field filled with arabesques and foliate scroll work in the Moorish artistic tradition. The word ESSAI appears in Latin characters along the lower portion of the central device. Arabic legends in elegant script arc around the periphery at top and bottom, reading the dynastic and state titles of the Cherifian Empire. The overall composition reflects the sophisticated engraving style of the Monnaie de Paris. |

| Reverse description | The central field bears the denomination 200 FRANCS in bold Latin numerals and letters, with the Arabic equivalent فرنك (franc) inscribed directly below in flowing script. The legend MAROC arcs prominently across the upper field, flanked by ornamental rosettes and a dotted border. EMPIRE to the left and CHERIFIEN to the right appear in large Latin letters along the inner periphery, while Arabic dynastic inscriptions encircle the entire design in the outer border. The dual dating AN 1953 and 1372 (Hijri) appears in the lower central field, with the engraver's signature J. BAINAULT visible in small letters. |
