Opmerkingen

Spielgeld — German for "play money" — versions of the euro introduction notes circulated widely as promotional and educational material ahead of the January 2002 cash changeover. This 200-euro piece belongs to that category: not a legal tender specimen in the central bank sense, but a deliberately simplified facsimile produced to familiarize the public with the new denominations before they ever handled a real one. The word "Spielgeld" or equivalent appeared prominently to prevent confusion, though counterfeiting laws in several member states were still being clarified at the time.
