| Obverse description | Central field depicts the iconic figure of the Little Prince lifted aloft by a flock of wild birds, each connected to him by taut strings held in his outstretched hands, rendered in the stylised illustrative manner of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's original artwork. The young prince is shown in full figure, his scarf streaming behind him, rising from a small rocky surface at the lower rim. The field is scattered with five-pointed stars and a small planet, evoking the interstellar setting of the story.
