Issued to mark the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, first run in 1923 on public roads near the city before the dedicated Circuit de la Sarthe was established. The race's centennial edition in 2023 was won by Ferrari — the manufacturer's first outright Le Mans victory since 1965, a gap of 58 years that made the timing of this coin's release unusually resonant for collectors following the event.
