Additional information

Armenia introduced a redesigned circulating coinage series beginning around 2003–2004, and the 200 Dram denomination has persisted as a practical mid-range piece through subsequent updates. The 2023 issue reflects the Central Bank's ongoing program of incremental coinage modernization, though the Dram itself has been under consistent depreciation pressure against the dollar for much of its post-Soviet existence — the original 1993 Dram replaced Soviet rubles at parity during a period of severe economic contraction following independence.
