| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a dynamic composition commemorating the Klondike Gold Rush, depicting three prospectors operating a sluice box at left, while a steam locomotive occupies the right portion of the field, together evoking the dual forces of manual labour and rail transport that underpinned the Canadian gold trade of the late 19th century. The background is rendered with a radial line finish characteristic of Royal Canadian Mint bullion issues of this series. The legend 'CANADA 2023' arcs across the upper field, while the purity designation and weight statement — affirming the coin's .99999 fine gold content and one troy ounce weight — appear in the lower field. The overall design evokes the historic 'Passage for Gold' theme central to this commemorative issue. |

The "Passage for Gold" issue belongs to the Royal Canadian Mint's long-running tradition of five-nines (.99999) fine gold koulons — a purity standard the RCM first achieved in 1999 and has used as a commercial differentiator against competing sovereign mints ever since. Reaching that fifth nine requires an additional refining pass that most national mints have never bothered to pursue at scale.
Struck in 2023, this is among the final Canadian issues to carry Elizabeth II's name, given her death in September 2022 — the RCM continued issuing coins under her effigy through much of the transition year.
