Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, occupies the central field. The Queen is depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, a pearl drop earring, and a pearl necklace, all rendered with fine detail characteristic of the proof finish. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left periphery and D·G·REGINA along the upper right, both in raised Latin capitals. The date 1993 appears in the lower exergue beneath the portrait.
