Reverse description A stylized Northwest Coast Indigenous design depicting the face of the Raven rendered in the traditional formline art style, occupying the full field of the coin. The broad, rounded visage is executed in high relief with smooth, polished surfaces contrasting against deeply recessed formline elements; bold ovoid eyes with almond-shaped pupils, prominent arching brows, a defined nose, and a partially open beak-like mouth are framed by symmetrical wing and feather motifs in the characteristic Haida artistic tradition. The surrounding border is filled with interlocking curvilinear formline elements representing the body and wings of the Raven, conveying the mythological narrative of the Raven bringing light to the world. The engravers' initials appear in the lower portion of the field.
