Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Susanna Blunt, depicted as a mature queen with neatly coiffed hair, pearl drop earring, and pearl necklace. The engraver's initials 'SB' appear on the truncation of the bust. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper left rim and 'D•G•REGINA' along the upper right rim, both in raised Latin capitals. The denomination '200 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower rim, completing the circular legend. The field displays a fine radial line pattern characteristic of Royal Canadian Mint bullion issues.

Reverse description The reverse features a finely detailed allegorical scene of gold prospecting, depicting a prospector operating a sluice box, pouring ore-laden gravel through the inclined wooden trough as water flows across rocky terrain in the lower field. The engraver's initials 'SH' appear within the scene at lower left. The country name 'CANADA' and the date '2022' are inscribed at the upper rim. Along the lower arc, the legend reads 'FINE GOLD' at left and '1 OZ OR PUR' at right, flanking a central Royal Canadian Mint maple leaf privy mark within a circle and a smaller maple leaf privy mark bearing the year at lower left. The purity designation '99999' appears at lower right, and the radiating field background evokes the lustre of the precious metal.
