| Obverse description | The obverse presents the mature effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, wearing drop earrings and a pearl necklace, as modelled by Susanna Blunt. The queen's hair is styled in an upswept coiffure, rendered with fine detail against a deeply mirrored proof field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim, while D·G·REGINA curves along the right, both struck in crisp serif capitals.
