Obverse description Fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend around the upper field reads ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA, with the denomination 200 DOLLARS, weight and fineness 2oz 9999 GOLD, and the date 2014 inscribed. The designer's initials IRB appear below the effigy.

Reverse description A dynamic, finely detailed depiction of a horse in full gallop facing left, its mane and tail flowing vigorously with motion. The animal is rendered in high relief against a textured grassy ground, flanked by stylised rocky outcroppings and auspicious cloud motifs in the field. The Chinese character 馬 (Horse) appears prominently at the top of the field within a decorative border. The inscription YEAR OF THE HORSE is engraved in script along the lower field, and the Perth Mint's P mintmark appears to the left of the horse.
