A sailing ship of the First Fleet is depicted in the right middle ground against a radiating background. The legend AUSTRALIA - TWO HUNDRED YEARS arcs along the upper periphery, with SYDNEY COVE to the left and the date 1788 to the right in the field. The denomination TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS is inscribed in bold letters along the lower periphery, with the engraver's initials HH in the field.
