| Beschrijving keerzijde | The central field features a devotional depiction of the Holy Family in a stylised relief: Saint Joseph stands prominently at centre with a nimbus, his bearded face turned slightly toward the viewer, while the Virgin Mary, veiled and haloed, is shown to his right. The infant Jesus, also nimbed, is seated in the foreground with one hand extended in blessing. A comet or Star of Bethlehem with a trailing tail appears to the left in the field alongside the denomination $200. The upper legend reads CHRISTMAS ISLAND, and the lower rim carries the bilingual inscription KIRITIMATI · KIRIBATI. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Christmas Island — properly Kiritimati — is the world's largest coral atoll by land area and sits within the Pacific Ocean portion of Kiribati, a nation whose scattered island geography made it the first territory on Earth to enter the year 2000 after a controversial 1995 decision to redraw the International Date Line eastward around its islands. That political maneuver was partly economic, intended to attract millennium tourism. This coin belongs to a broader series of Kiribati gold issues produced under contract by external minting facilities, as the nation maintains no domestic mint.
