Reverse description Three sugar maple leaves (Acer saccharum) arranged in a gently overlapping compositional group, tilted toward the right to suggest natural movement as though the leaves are caught mid-fall. The leaves are depicted with exceptional engraved detail, clearly rendering the characteristic lobed form and intricate vein structure of the species. The inscription CANADA arcs along the upper rim, while the purity and denomination statement 9999 FINE GOLD 1 OZ OR PUR appears in the lower field. The engraver's initials SW are present in the design field.
