Obverse description The obverse presents a finely detailed high-relief depiction of the USS Yorktown (CV-5) aircraft carrier underway at sea, occupying the central and upper field, with two Grumman F4F Wildcat fighter aircraft in flight to the upper left. The designation 'CV-5' appears in the lower right field. In the lower portion of the field, a circular inset features the right-facing effigy of King Charles III, engraved by D.T., surrounded by the legends '200 DOLLARS · CHARLES III' and 'COOK ISLANDS'. The motto 'COURAGE, SACRIFICE, VICTORY' arcs along the upper periphery, while '4-7 JUNE 1942' appears at the lower left and '1 OZ .9999 AU' at the lower right.
