| Obverse description | The obverse presents a finely detailed high-relief depiction of the USS Yorktown (CV-5) aircraft carrier underway at sea, occupying the central and upper field, with two Grumman F4F Wildcat fighter aircraft in flight to the upper left. The designation 'CV-5' appears in the lower right field. In the lower portion of the field, a circular inset features the right-facing effigy of King Charles III, engraved by D.T., surrounded by the legends '200 DOLLARS · CHARLES III' and 'COOK ISLANDS'.
