Obverse description Central field depicts a panoramic view of the historic medina and ramparts of Rabat, with the iconic Hassan Tower and surrounding cityscape rendered in fine relief. An Arabic legend arcs across the upper portion of the coin within a beaded inner border, commemorating the 800th anniversary of the founding of Rabat. The Hijri year 1416 appears to the left and the Christian year 1995 to the right of the central motif. The denomination '200' flanked by Arabic script reading 'مئتا درهم' (two hundred dirhams) is boldly inscribed in the lower field. The design is framed by a finely milled outer rim with a beaded inner circle.

Reverse description The reverse of this coin features the effigy or royal arms associated with King Hassan II of Morocco, as is standard for Moroccan commemorative issues of this period, with the royal cypher and relevant inscriptions in Arabic script identifying the kingdom and the ruling monarch. Surrounding legends in Arabic script identify the issuing authority and the Kingdom of Morocco. The design is executed in high relief against a polished field, consistent with the commemorative non-circulating issue standard of Bank Al-Maghrib.
