The Green March of November 1975 sent 350,000 Moroccan civilians across the border into Spanish-controlled Western Sahara in a calculated act of demographic pressure — Franco was dying, Spain was paralyzed, and Hassan II seized the moment. Spain signed the Madrid Accords within weeks, ceding administrative control of the territory. This coin commemorates the twentieth anniversary of that event.
