Reverse description Central device consists of the Qajar imperial sun-and-lion emblem rendered as a radiant solar disc with numerous fine rays emanating from a facing female head at its centre, representing the Shams-e Tābān (Shining Sun). The solar device is flanked by two large decorative sprays, an olive branch to the left and an oak branch to the right, their stems crossing at the base. Surmounting the composition at top centre is the Qajar kiani crown rendered in relief. The mint name طهران (Tehran) is inscribed in Arabic script along the lower field between the branch stems. The entire design is enclosed within a finely toothed border.
