Additional information

The Maple Leaf name is licensed from the Royal Canadian Mint, which has issued its own 99.999% fine gold Maple Leaf series since 1979 — making this Gambian adaptation an unusual hybrid: a foreign nation's imagery struck in lower-purity gold at a fraction of the standard weight, almost certainly produced for the bullion novelty market rather than domestic circulation.
