| Obverse description | Central device depicts a cowrie shell rendered in high relief within a plain field, the shell positioned diagonally with its serrated aperture facing right. The peripheral legend reads 'GHANA' at the top and 'FREEDOM AND JUSTICE' continuing around the lower arc, separated by raised bullet points. The inscription is executed in bold, incuse Latin lettering following the curved contour of the seven-sided flan. |
