The Hunan-Hupeh-Kiangsi Workers' and Farmers' Bank was one of several regional soviet financial institutions established by the Chinese Communist Party during its guerrilla period in the Jinggang Mountains border region. Notes from this bank were issued under wartime conditions, with printing quality and paper stock varying significantly depending on what materials were locally available at the time of production. The Nationalist government's encirclement campaigns created chronic supply disruptions.

Surviving examples are genuinely rare. Most were destroyed during military retreats or lost during the Long March mobilization that began in 1934.
