| Obverse description | Rectangular cast bronze tally with a circular suspension hole at the top. The field below the hole bears five large Chinese ideograms arranged vertically in two columns, rendered in regular script (kaishu). The inscription reads 臨安府行用, identifying the issuing authority as Lin'an Prefecture and authorizing the piece for local circulation. The characters are boldly cast in relief against a plain, undecorated field. |
