Obverse description Intaglio portrait of Sultan Qaboos bin Sa'id in traditional Omani dress and turban at right, set against a multicolour guilloche underprint in shades of violet, ochre, and green. The Omani coat of arms appears at upper centre, with the Arabic bank title and denomination inscription in large calligraphic script occupying the centre of the note. The ornate border incorporates fine lathe-work scrollwork throughout.

Reverse description A detailed intaglio vignette of Rustaq Fort, rendered in violet, occupies the left and central portion of the reverse against a pale blue sky and mountain backdrop. The fort's multi-towered stone architecture is reproduced with fine line engraving, with a cartouche reading 'RUSTAQ FORT' placed below the vignette. The English bank title appears in a panel at the top, and the denomination in words is set in a panel at the foot, flanked by ornamental guilloche cornerpieces bearing the numeral 200.
