Obverse description Unadorned bust of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) facing slightly left, wearing spectacles and a suit with tie, rendered in high relief against a polished field. Stylized temple spire motifs flank the portrait in the lower mid-field. The circular legend in Thai script reads 'รัชกาลที่ ๙' (Reign IX) at upper left and 'ประเทศไทย' (Thailand) at upper right. The denomination '๒๐๐ บาท' (200 Baht) and the Buddhist Era date 'พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๓' (BE 2543 / AD 2000) appear along the lower border.
