| 裏面の説明 | A uniformed bust of Brigadier General Leopold Okulicki facing slightly left, depicted in military dress with shoulder epaulettes and decorations, rendered in moderate relief against a flat field. The 'Kotwica' (Polish Underground anchor symbol) appears to the lower left of the portrait. The circular legend 'GEN. BRYG. LEOPOLD OKULICKI "NIEDŹWIADEK"' runs along the upper periphery, with the life dates '1898-1946' continuing along the right side. The word 'PRÓBA' (trial/pattern) is inscribed vertically to the right of the bust, and the designer's initials 'SWF' appear at the lower right near the rim. |

General Leopold Okulicki commanded the Home Army's final months and was among the sixteen Polish Underground State leaders lured into Soviet-staged negotiations in March 1945, then arrested by the NKVD and tried in Moscow. He died in Soviet custody in December 1946 under circumstances that were never fully clarified. This trial piece was produced as Poland's communist government collapsed and sovereignty was being reconstructed — the rehabilitation of Home Army figures, long suppressed as enemies of the state, was politically impossible before 1989.
Trial strikes of this denomination in nickel are distinct from the issued cupro-nickel type and were not released for circulation.
